Terms of Service

Effective date: September 17, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Mapdie — the Mapdie iOS app and the website at mapdie.com (together, the “Service”). Mapdie is operated by the individual operator of Mapdie (“we”, “us”, or “our”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By creating an account or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Mapdie, or older if the laws of your country or the terms of the Apple App Store require a higher minimum age. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement.

3. Your account

Mapdie accounts are created with Sign in with Apple. Your account includes the name and email address provided through Apple, plus the profile you set up in the app: a username handle, a bio, an optional profile picture, and a profile visibility setting (public or private).

You are responsible for activity that happens under your account. Keep your Apple ID secure — we do not manage passwords for you.

4. Your content

Mapdie lets you create maps and pins (place names, coordinates, notes, and photos), send messages (including shared maps, pins, places, and photo attachments), and import places from Instagram and Threads links. You retain ownership of the content you create.

So that we can run the Service, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display your content — but only as needed to operate the Service and only according to the visibility you choose. A public map is shown publicly; a followers-only map is shown to your followers; a message is shown to its recipients.

You are responsible for the content you post. Only post content you have the right to share.

5. Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users

Mapdie has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. Before you can sign in, you must agree to these Terms. Content that breaks the rules below is removed, and accounts that post it or abuse other people are suspended or permanently banned. We review reports of objectionable content and abusive users and act on them within 24 hours.

When using the Service, you must not:

  • post content that is illegal, sexually explicit, hateful, harassing, threatening, or that infringes someone else’s rights;
  • impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone;
  • spam, scrape, or use automated means to access the Service without our permission;
  • attempt to interfere with, probe, or disrupt the Service or its security;
  • use the Service to stalk, harass, or reveal the private location of another person;
  • circumvent blocks, suspensions, or other moderation actions.

6. Messaging, blocking, and reporting

Mapdie includes one-to-one and group conversations. Messages from people you don’t follow arrive as message requests that you can accept or decline. You can block other users at any time, and you can report maps, pins, messages and users that you believe violate these Terms. Content you report is hidden from you right away. Blocking someone hides their maps, pins, messages and activity from you, and yours from them. We review every report within 24 hours and act on it as described below.

7. Moderation and enforcement

We use automated content filters (including automated scanning of uploaded profile pictures and message photo attachments) together with human review to keep the Service safe. Violations of these Terms can result in content removal, strikes against your account, temporary suspension, or permanent termination, depending on severity and history.

8. Third-party content and services

The Service displays material from third parties: venue photos served from Google’s content delivery network, places imported from Instagram or Threads links you provide, and sign-in through Apple. We do not control third-party content or services and are not responsible for them. Your use of them may be subject to their own terms.

9. Termination and account deletion

You can stop using Mapdie at any time. You can request deletion of your account in the app under Settings. When you do, your account is immediately deactivated and hidden, and your data is permanently deleted within approximately 30 days. During that window you can restore the account by signing in with Apple again and choosing to restore it, or by contacting [email protected]. After deletion completes, your data cannot be recovered.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, as described in Section 7.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that place information (names, coordinates, photos) is accurate or current.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. To the extent liability cannot be excluded, our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us to use the Service (currently nothing) or USD $50.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and take reasonable steps to notify you, such as a notice in the app. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
